1. What Certipa is — and isn't

Certipa is not a bank, lender, or financial institution. We operate a structured application, readiness assessment, and review process that prepares qualified applications for review by independent financing partners — including banks, microfinance institutions, certification bodies, employers, and donors. Certipa does not itself extend loans, credit, or financing.

Submitting an application through Certipa does not guarantee financing. Financing, if offered, is granted by a financing partner at their own discretion, on terms they determine, and subject to their own eligibility and underwriting criteria.

2. Eligibility

To apply, you must be able to provide accurate, truthful information about yourself, your employment status, and your certification goals, and you must be legally able to enter into the arrangements described in your application.

3. Applications

When you submit an application, you authorize Certipa to:

You will receive a reference number after submitting, which you can use to track your application's status at any time.

4. Review process and decisions

All applications are reviewed by a person — Certipa does not use automated systems to approve or reject applications. Review timelines vary; readiness and document review typically takes a few business days, with partner-stage timing depending on the financing partner involved.

If your application is not approved by a particular financing partner, this does not necessarily prevent future applications or consideration by other partners.

5. Financing partners

Financing partners are independent organizations. Certipa is not responsible for the terms, conduct, or decisions of any financing partner. Any financing agreement you enter into is between you and that partner, governed by the partner's own terms.

6. Accuracy of information

You agree to provide accurate and complete information in your application or partnership inquiry. Providing false or misleading information may result in your application being declined or, where financing has already been extended by a partner, may have consequences under that partner's own agreement with you.

7. Intellectual property

The Certipa name, logo, and platform content are the property of Certipa Education Finance PLC. You may not copy, reproduce, or use our branding without permission.

8. Limitation of liability

Certipa provides this platform on an "as is" basis during its pilot stage. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Certipa is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including delays in review, decisions made by financing partners, or interruptions to the service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform develops beyond pilot stage. We'll update the "last updated" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
