Certipa Education Finance PLC ("Certipa," "we," "us," or "our") operates a pilot platform that helps applicants apply for certification financing and connects them with financing partners. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
When you apply for certification financing, we collect the information you provide directly, including:
- Your full name, email address, and phone number
- Your selected certification, employment status, and readiness information you describe to us
- The financing amount you estimate you need
- Supporting documents you upload as part of your application
When a bank, MFI, certification body, employer, or donor expresses partnership interest, we collect the organization's name and type, the contact person's name, email, phone number, and a description of the partnership they're interested in.
We also automatically generate a reference number for each application, which is used solely to let you track your status.
2. How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Review your application's readiness, documents, and certification fit
- Prepare qualified applications for review by financing partners
- Communicate with you about your application's status
- Respond to partnership inquiries and evaluate potential partnerships
- Improve our application and review process during this pilot
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
3. When we share your information
We share your full application — including your documents — with a financing partner only once your application is qualified and ready to move to partner review. We do not share your information with any other third party for marketing or unrelated purposes.
A lightweight, non-identifying summary of your application (your reference number, the certification you applied for, and your current review stage) is used to power the public "Track status" page, so you can check your status without logging in. This summary never includes your name, contact details, documents, or any other personal information.
4. Documents you upload
Documents you upload (such as identification or proof of enrollment) are used only for readiness review and, where relevant, shared with prospective financing partners as described above. We do not use uploaded documents for any other purpose, and we do not share them publicly.
5. How long we keep your information
We retain application and partnership inquiry data for as long as needed to support the review process, respond to your inquiry, and meet any recordkeeping obligations we may have as a financial-services-adjacent platform. If you'd like your information deleted and it is not subject to a legal retention requirement, contact us using the details below.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information, where we are not required to retain it

7. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including restricting access to applicant and partner data to authorized reviewers only. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
Certipa's services are intended for working-age professionals applying for certification financing. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and our services are not directed at children.
9. Changes to this policy
As Certipa moves from pilot to full operation, this policy may be updated to reflect new features, partners, or legal requirements. We'll update the "last updated" date above when changes are made.
